You know the drill: you pull a bottle off the line and the walls are thin in some places and thick in others. Or worse, the bottle just fails structurally.
If you’re seeing cold spots or overheating around the neck or the base, it’s usually not a mystery. It almost always comes down to two things: the spectral output of your IR lamps and how the heating module is actually lined up.
Getting the heat right
We build our replacement IR lamps to fit KHS specs exactly. But the real secret is in the tungsten filament.
Cheap tubes often have this “hot center” problem where the middle is scorching but the edges are lukewarm. We fix that by tightening the tolerance on the filament winding. It sounds technical, but all it means is that the heat is spread evenly across the whole preform. No surprises. Just a flat, consistent thermal profile.
The nuts and bolts
We use high-purity quartz glass because it lets the short-wave IR pass through without getting blocked.
And since we use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors, these are just drop-in replacements. You won’t have to spend your afternoon rewiring racks or messing with the electrical layout. It just works.
One thing we obsess over is the quartz coating. If it’s too thick, the heat doesn’t penetrate. Too thin, and the lamp burns out the moment you push it. We’ve found that sweet spot so they can handle high-voltage, long-haul runs without quitting on you.
A quick word of caution
Here’s the thing: if you crank up the wattage to speed up your cycle times, you’re adding a lot of heat density to the oven.
Make sure your ventilation and cooling fans can actually handle that extra load. If the oven gets too hot, your reflector plates can warp. Once those warp, your uniformity is gone, and you’re right back where you started.
At the end of the day, these modules do exactly what the OEM parts do. You get the same performance, but you aren’t paying the “brand name” tax.
