Uneven temps, slow recovery, and lamp drift will knock your stretch blow molding cycle off spec—thin walls, ambering, or cap flash that ends up in the scrap bin. We built the dense-filament IR lamp for preform lines to give you repeatable heat, fast and stable, so your blow molder can run the way it’s supposed to. What matters under the hood This is a short-wave infrared lamp, built around a high-density filament inside a quartz envelope. It was engineered for snappy thermal response and tight control over output. Typical ratings are 1.5–3.0 kW, 220–240 V or 380–480 V, with R7s bases and standardized mounting dimensions. It drops straight into existing heating tunnels without a rework. The dense filament geometry concentrates energy where the preform needs it, giving you high irradiance and a fast ramp-up that supports tighter process windows. Why it earns its keep In preform heating, speed and uniformity drive yield. This lamp starts fast, so your heating tunnel hits setpoint quickly after a changeover, and the stable spectral output keeps preform surface temperature consistent across the row. Fewer temperature swings mean more consistent stretch ratios, and bottles that hit weight and stress targets. Energy use drops too—short dwell and quick recovery mean less idle power and less waste heat bleeding into the machine frame. The fine points to watch Installation is straightforward on most blow molding platforms, but match socket type, wattage, and mounting geometry to the OEM spec. Keep the reflector clean and aligned; otherwise you lose irradiance and start seeing banding. Expect peak output in the short-wave band—solid for PET, but it’s not the right fit for every material. Run it on a stable supply, and verify your thermal profile with a pyrometer to confirm the setpoints are actually being held.
